John Tring is the grandson of Harold Guard. He has spent the past nine years editing his grandfather’s story from a variety of private and public sources. The publication of The Pacific War Uncensored: A War Correspondent’s Unvarnished Account of the Fight Against Japan has been a family ambition for many years, and completes the work that Harold Guard was unable to finish due to poor health. John works full time as a teacher, and lives in Essex with his wife Lisa.
