Rob Orrison has been working in the history field for more than 20 years. Born and raised in Loudoun County, Virginia, Rob received his bachelorís degree in Historic Preservation at Longwood College (now University) and received his masterís degree in Public History from George Mason University. Currently Rob oversees day-to-day operations of a large municipal historic site program in Northern Virginia. Outside of work, Rob leads tours with Civil War Excursion Tours (of which he is co-founder), contributor to the Emerging Civil War blog, and treasurer of the Historic House Museum Consortium of Washington, D.C. He serves as a member of the board of directors of the Bull Run Civil War Roundtable, the board of directors of the Mosby Heritage Area Association, the board of directors of Virginia Civil War Trails, and serves on the Governing Council of the Virginia Association of Museums. He lives in Prince William County with his wife, Jamie, and son, Carter.
