244: Total NFL games (244) played by former Georgia center Ray Donaldson. Donaldson was All-SEC as a senior in 1979, and with Donaldson as starting center, the Bulldogs were 10-1-1 in SEC play. He anchored the 1995 Dallas Cowboys’ offensive line, and was an 11-time Pro Bowl selection. Ray was also the first black center in the NFL.
354: Total yards of offense (354) by the 1981 Bulldogs against Auburn. Georgia won 24-13 as Walker ran for 165 yards and set a new rushing record at UGA (breaking his old mark of 1,616) and Buck Belue was 10 of 17 passing with two TD throws.
683: Total receiving yards (683) by FL Andre Hastings in 1991. Hastings caught 48 passes from Eric Zeier including five TD scores.
801: UGA’s record (8-0-1) in 1920 under first-year coach and eventual legend Herman Stegeman. It was in November of that season that either Morgan Blake of the Atlanta Journal (November 3) or the Atlanta Constitution’s Cliff Wheatley (November 6) christens the UGA gridiron team “the Bulldogs.”
931: The number of points Georgia has scored (931) on Auburn—through 2007—since being shutout by Shug Jordan’s Tigers on November 16, 1963. Auburn has not shutout the Dawgs since, but the Dawgs turned the trick on Auburn in 1967 and 1976.
