New Year - New Books!

Happy New Year, Savas Beatie Readers! I realize I'm a little late to the game on that one, but boy did the holidays keep me busy (as did the lead-in and the cool-down). I gotta tell ya, while I do love the holidays... I am very happy to be back in the saddle as we have a LOT on the docket for the year, so let's just dive right in.

Gene Barr cemented his Valentine's Day themed discussion in Cape May for February 9. While we were hoping to officially release the paperback at this event, we still have just the smallest bit of hard cover inventory left. With the popularity of an event such as this, I would be sure to attend so you do not miss out on the absolute last of these first editions! Check out the details for that appearance here.

Another book on the horizon that I'm VERY excited about is Gettysburg Kids Who Did the Impossible by Gregory Christianson! We have a lot of cool ideas we're kicking around, not only here at Savas Beatie, but also at the Gettysburg Heritage Center, in regards to this book. If you've paid attention to any of my media, you'll know that I've been a big proponent of cultivating the next generation of Civil War buffs, so I am very excited for this! Keep an eye here on my blog for some big announcements coming soon on that front!

Finally, congratulations are in order for Jeff Hunt who was recently selected to receive the 2017 Gettysburg Civil War Roundtable Distinguished Book Award for Meade and Lee After Gettysburg: The Forgotten Final Stage of the Gettysburg Campaign, from Falling Waters to Culpeper Court House, July 14-31, 1863. Keep an eye on our calendar for Gettysburg area events with Jeff when he's out that way accepting his award! As well as events in other regions as I'm sure this will be keeping him busy for some time to come.

That's it for this week's Morehouse Monday, y'all! Til next week!
